- NTC forces are reporting they have captured Qaddafi, but the claims can not be independently confirmed. What is largely confirmed is that NTC forces have conquered Sirte.
- As the general strike in Greece enters day two, the parliament there is expected to consider final passage of an austerity bill which helped prompt the general strike in the first place.
- US funds intended to push for privatization may have instead given resources for crony capitalism in Egypt.
- Rick Perry and Ron Paul have lobbied for energy subsides in the state of Texas, despite both decrying such subsides in the GOP debates. I must admit I'm very surprised to see Ron Paul mentioned.
- The supercommittee's deadline is approaching, but as of yet there is still no consensus.
